“Being on my school's food advising committee, I was able to meet and talk with our Global Chef, Joaquin Suarez of Sodexo Colombia. I thought he was very well spoken, and had great ideas for ways to incorporate some of his styles into more of our cuisine. He also seemed quite excited to receive ideas from our chefs and encouraged the exchanges.”

“I was standing in line at the station where the Global Chef's dishes were served and a man walks up to me and greets me in Spanish. Then with a smile begins to describe the food he had prepared (in English) and soon a group of people were standing around listening to him. Joaquín was very friendly and outgoing, an ideal ambassador.”

"The opportunity to have Chef Samarn was amazing. I was very pleased that our campus was able to participate in this program. I am a person who tends to eat the same old food and not try new things all the time. When we had Chef Samarn here, I took the opportunity and tried the food he was cooking. The food was very good and I enjoyed the options we had. I heard many students who were excited about this program and they enjoyed the festivities during the week. One evening, I myself had the opportunity to help prepare the meal and serve dinner. This was a great opportunity to see how our meals are prepared daily, and especially the theme meals and I got to work directly with Chef Samarn and our head chefs from Keene. The Global Chef program is a wonderful program and I am very glad that our campus and I had the opportunity to participate in this program. I hope that we will get to do this more in the future. "

“I just wanted to inform you that the Colombian Chef, Joaquin Suarez, who was at Ramapo this past week, was excellent. The food was very tasty and well made. Having more international cuisine makes the food menu at school a little more exciting and different."
